That realization changed the way I think about building an online business.<\/p>\n
Instead of asking, “What should I post today?” I started asking a different question:<\/p>\n
“What asset can I build today that will still be valuable a year from now?”<\/strong><\/p>\n That simple shift has become the foundation of my marketing philosophy.<\/p>\n A business asset is something you own that continues creating value after you’ve built it.<\/p>\n Unlike a social media post that disappears into yesterday’s newsfeed, an asset keeps working for you.<\/p>\n Examples include:<\/p>\n An email list<\/p>\n<\/li>\n A helpful blog article<\/p>\n<\/li>\n A lead magnet<\/p>\n<\/li>\n A prompt library<\/p>\n<\/li>\n A video tutorial<\/p>\n<\/li>\n A course<\/p>\n<\/li>\n A checklist<\/p>\n<\/li>\n A website you own<\/p>\n<\/li>\n A knowledge base<\/p>\n<\/li>\n An AI assistant trained on your expertise<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Each of these can continue attracting visitors, building trust, and generating opportunities long after they’re created.<\/p>\n There’s nothing wrong with creating content.<\/p>\n In fact, content is often how assets begin.<\/p>\n The difference is what happens next.<\/p>\n A social media post may be seen for a few hours.<\/p>\n A well-written article can attract readers for years.<\/p>\n An email can introduce someone to your philosophy.<\/p>\n A lead magnet can turn that reader into a subscriber.<\/p>\n A subscriber can become a long-term customer.<\/p>\n One asset supports another.<\/p>\n That’s how businesses grow steadily instead of constantly starting over.<\/p>\n Over the years I’ve simplified my approach into three ideas.<\/p>\n Build AI Assets.<\/strong><\/p>\n Create things you own and control.<\/p>\n Build Relationships.<\/strong><\/p>\n Use those assets to help people, answer questions, and earn trust.<\/p>\n Build Trust.<\/strong><\/p>\n Trust isn’t built overnight. It’s built through consistent value over time.<\/p>\n Sales become much easier when they’re built on trust instead of pressure.<\/p>\n Artificial Intelligence has become an incredible productivity tool.<\/p>\n It can help organize ideas.<\/p>\n Create outlines.<\/p>\n Summarize research.<\/p>\n Improve clarity.<\/p>\n Speed up writing.<\/p>\n But AI is only one part of the process.<\/p>\n Your experience, your stories, your judgment, and your unique perspective are still the real assets.<\/p>\n AI helps you build them faster.<\/p>\n It doesn’t replace them.<\/p>\n Technology will continue to change.<\/p>\n New AI tools will appear.<\/p>\n Search engines will evolve.<\/p>\n Social media platforms will come and go.<\/p>\n But assets you own continue working regardless of which platform is popular this year.<\/p>\n That’s why I focus on building a business that isn’t dependent on any single algorithm.<\/p>\n You don’t need to build everything at once.<\/p>\n Start with one asset.<\/p>\n Write one helpful article.<\/p>\n Create one lead magnet.<\/p>\n Begin one email list.<\/p>\n Teach one lesson you’ve learned.<\/p>\n Then build the next asset.<\/p>\n Over time those individual pieces begin supporting one another.<\/p>\n That’s when your business starts working more like a system than a series of disconnected projects.<\/p>\n For years I thought I needed to create more content.<\/p>\n Today I believe something different.<\/p>\n Content gets attention.<\/p>\n Assets create opportunity.<\/p>\n If you consistently build assets that help people solve real problems, you’ll also build something even more valuable:<\/p>\n Relationships.<\/p>\n And relationships built on trust are the strongest assets of all.<\/p>\n SEO gets you found.<\/strong><\/p>\n AEO gets you recommended.<\/strong><\/p>\n HEO gets you remembered.\u00a0 Last Updated:<\/strong> July 2026 – FVR<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Every day, millions of pieces of content are published online.
