The second quiet advantage is easy to overlook because it doesn’t feel exciting.<\/span><\/p>\n

It isn’t another AI tool.<\/span><\/p>\n

It isn’t a new social platform.<\/span><\/p>\n

It’s permission.<\/span><\/p>\n

Every time someone subscribes to your email list, they’re giving you something valuable.<\/span><\/p>\n

They’re inviting you into one of the few online spaces they still control \u2014 their inbox.<\/span><\/p>\n

That invitation matters.<\/span><\/p>\n

People don’t usually hand out their email address without expecting something worthwhile in return.<\/span><\/p>\n

They’re saying,<\/span><\/p>\n

“I’d like to hear from you again.”<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

That’s very different from someone casually scrolling past one of your social media posts.<\/span><\/p>\n

On social media, attention is often accidental.<\/span><\/p>\n

With email, attention is intentional.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

That changes the relationship from the very beginning.<\/span><\/p>\n

You no longer have to interrupt someone.<\/span><\/p>\n

You simply have to honor the permission they’ve already given you.<\/span><\/p>\n

That’s one reason I don’t believe every email has to sell something.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sometimes the best email is simply a helpful idea.<\/span><\/p>\n
